Sadies

As much as I always wanted to go to a Cowboys and Indians party, I don't think I'm going to go to the Sadies dance. It doesn't seem like it will be fun. Instead I will hang out with some friends and go to another party.

Image and Link

This week we've been learning about putting pictures and links.I understand most of it, but I was struggling with putting a picture as a link. Mrs. Goudy came and helped me and turns out i forgot to end the picture name with a ". So now my picture works and everythings good. I'm still a little nervous about the quiz on Monday.

NBA All-Star Game

On Sunday, I went to my friend Matthew Wheeler's house with Trevor Elrod Together we watched the NBA All-Star game and ate a bunch of pasta and potstickers. During halftime of the All-star game we went outside and played a basketball game called 21. We each won a game and then Trevor cheated and won the last game. We went in and then back out and Trevor's stomach started to "hurt"... so we went back in. Once i went in I had a lot of food and desserts.

Cell-Phone For School

I use my cell phone for many school related things. Recently i just bought an app called gFlashPro. With this app I can make notecards with sounds, pictures, words, and videos. I mostly use it for vocab and world cultures. I've uploaded a map of Asia, so now i can identify the countries while lying on my bed. It makes things easier for me, so that i can get more accomplished and get better grades on my test.

Picture Lesson

Right now, I'm a bit confused with our lesson on pictures. I don't undderstand how to make my logo smaller on my home page. I have it on but it takes up nearly half the page. I also am trying to figure out what to write about fiile sizes for the different types of images. Hopefully I'll understand this more as we go along and get everything done in time.

Make-up for Snow Day

Today I woke up and got ready for school. Once i was ready to leave my parents told me that since it was snowing I didn't have to go to school. So i went back to bed and slept in till 9:30a.m. Around 9:45 my friend Thomas, who was also out of school, called me to see if i could come over. So I went over to his house and saw a bunch of my friends. We had a massive snowball fight with forts and bunkers. After a couple of hours we were getting bored of snowball fights so thought of another game to play in the snow. We were playing in a big field so we thought of the idea to play capture the flag. We split up the teams and put a tree branch as the flag on each side of the field. The rules were if you got hit with a snowball you have to go to the opponents side and wait to be tagged by a teammate. You could win by getting everyone on the other team out by hitting them with snowballs or by taking their flag and bringing it back to your base. It was one of the funnest days I've had off during the school year. I hope it snows again soon.

What Makes a Good Logo

What makes a good logo? Well there are many reasons why logos are remembered. The five main principles that you must follow when creating a logo. These five principles are to make sure your logo is:
» Simple
» Memorable
» Timeless
» Versatile
» Appropriate

Simple Logos:Simple logos are often easily recognized, incredibly memorable and the most effective in conveying the requirements of the client.

Memorable Logos:Ultimately, the only mandate in the design of logos, it seems, is that they be distinctive, memorable, and clear.

Timeless Logos:An effective logo should be timeless – that is, it will stand the test of time. Will the logo still be effective in 10, 20, 50 years?

Versatile:An effective logo should be able to work across a variety of mediums and applications. For this reason a logo should be designed in vector format, to ensure that it can be scaled to any size.

Appropriate:How you position the logo should be appropriate for its intended purpose. For example, if you are designing a logo for children’s toys store, it would be appropriate to use a childish font & colour scheme. This would not be so appropriate for a law firm.

This is just one example of a great logo. IT follows all the requirements above and is appropriate for what they are attracting, children.

The Coca-Cola logo is such a brilliant logo. It is so simple, yet so creative and eye catching. Unlike othre company logo's the Coca-Cola logo is timeless and hasn't changed since 1885!
