Proboscis Monkeys

I did my tables project on Proboscis Monkeys. They are very strange animials. Their noses are massive. I am interested in how their noses get so large. I looked it up and it is seen that the big nose is thought to be used to attract females and is a characteristic of the males, reaching up to 7 inches in length. The females also have big noses compared to other monkey species, but not as big as the males. Besides attracting mates, the nose serves as a resonating chamber, amplifying their warning calls. When the animal becomes agitated its nose swells with blood, making warning calls louder and more intense.I just can't beleive how big their noses are!

Human

I've been pretty stressed already this week. I've been sick and I have a huge test tomorrow that I haven't started studying with. The song Human by the Killers is very relaxing though. Makes me feel a lot less stressed. You should check it out.

Tables

I am extremely confused with tables. I'm slowly understanding it day by day, but since I was absent Tuesday, I missed A LOT! Hopefully I can finish the assignment on time. We go really fast in this class, so i might have to work on it at home...

MEEEEEXXXXIIIICCCCOOOOO

Tomrrow I am leaving for Puerto Vallerta with Trevor. We are leaving at 1:30 and I'm not going to school. Im extremely excited to go to Mexico and whale watch and zipline through the rainforests. The most exciting thing will be throwing the frisbee on the beach and just chilaxing on the beach sand. I hope its hot and the water isn't too cold.

Struggling

There has been two things I have been struggling with in Web Design. Understanding hexidecimals were extremely confusing, but then Ms. Goudy made it much more clear. She explained it to me and now I feel like i understand hexiidecimals a lot better. Also uploading all my files into filezilla is a bit confusing. I keep going on the internet and my webpage is comming up different than it is on my folder. Hopefully I will get it soon though.

Optical Illusions

We've all had our days when we've been extremely bored and can't think of anything to do. Well I had one of those days last weekend when I was with my friend Joe. We couldn't think of anything to do. There were some ideas, but everything just sounded boring. After a while we thought of an idea of looking at optical illusions to kill some time. We went online and found a great optical illusion website. Some of them are just so crazy. They are all very entertaining. There is now a cure for boredome.

About Optical Illusions: An optical illusion (also called a visual illusion) is characterized by visually perceived images that differ from objective reality. The information gathered by the eye is processed in the brain to give a percept that does not tally with a physical measurement of the stimulus source. There are three main types: literal optical illusions that create images that are different from the objects that make them, physiological ones that are the effects on the eyes and brain of excessive stimulation of a specific type (brightness, tilt, color, movement), and cognitive illusions where the eye and brain make unconscious inferences.

Here is the great website we visited(VERY entertaining!): http://www.123opticalillusions.com/

Color Choice with Blind People

When making a webpage I never really thought that I had to be a little cautious so blind people may be able to read my websites. Now that I see the difference I find it extremely vital to make a webpage in which color blind people may access and read without a problem. After visiting the website below I finally understand how color blind see web pages and how difficult it is to read some things. Just put in a website and see what it looks like in a color blind person's vision!
